Georgraphy of Italy

The country of Italy is located in southern Europe. It has a total area of 301,318 km2 and (as of 2010) has a population of 60,483,521. Italy holds two of the largest islands, Sicily and Sardinia.  Italy is known to be shaped as a boot. France, Austria, Switzerland, and Slovenia border along the country of Italy. The country of San Marino and Vatican City (an independent country) are located within Italy. It extends into the center of the Mediterranean Sea. Majour cities of Italy include Rome (the capital city), Naples, and Venice. In comparison, Italy is a little larger than the state of Arizona.

  1. Wow Italy is a very interesting counrty! I love how it's shaped as a boot too! It's funky! England is not shaped like anything cool, it looks like a blob. England is also located in Europe, but it is in the Northern part. Italy's area is abot 200,00 more than England's. My country seems so small now! I look forward to learning more about your country!

  2. Hey Jenn! My country (France) and your country share boarders and they both also border the Mediterranean sea! France is 543, 965 kilometers squared and has a population of about 63, 479, 000 people making it’s population density to be around 115 people per square kilometer. Italy really does look like a boot!
